How many clues to my true condition were missed or overlooked? Now, I feel there was a real Hansel and Gretel breadcrumb trail being left. I am so disappointed in myself. Ashamed that I hadn’t been more proactive. Did I cheat myself out of an earlier diagnosis, and years of energy and better health? Oh, how I wish we had easy access to the internet then. I know Doctor Google gets a bad rap, but perhaps I may have done a better job at self-diagnosing? A quick type of keywords and my unconnected symptoms, before quickly hitting the enter button. Who knows if it would have linked all the nudges? I’m filled with self-criticism for not pushing for more answers from the medical profession. Answers that might have stopped me from glutening myself for decades. And would have led to improving my health years ago, rather than continuingly sabotaging it.
